To begin a race, A player needs to select a horse to participate, which will then be automatically matched into a race based on its class.
Once you select your horse, a set amount of entry fees need to be paid to secure a place in a race, which will be kept for distribution to the top-performing players as rewards. A total of 12 horses will compete against each other in a single race. To maintain the integrity of the race, MetaDerby team DO NOT charge any commission. That is to say, 100% of the entry fees will be given back to the top-performing players.
Depending on the class of the horse, the entry fees and prize pools are:
There is no guarantee of the result in any of the races. Even if your horse is fundamentally weaker in every aspect, there is still a chance that it can out-run other apparently stronger horses. We love dark horses!
However, if you have read the Genotype and Talent Point section carefully, you will learn that there are indeed important factors for the performance of the horses. More specifically, the percentages that Genotypes contribute to the final result are:
Upon completion of the race, you will be able to claim your prize if your horse is in the top 6 finish. So how will the prize be split between these 6 top players?
Since the entry fee and total prize amount is different for different classes of horses, here we will use a multiple for you to understand the prize allocation easier.
For example, if your horse has a Matchmaking Rating (MMR) of 750 which belongs to the Class of 3, you will need to pay 45 HOOF to take part in the race. If your horse finishes with the first position in the race, congratulations! Your prize reward will be 3.3 * 45 = 148.5 HOOF.
We’d love to give some extra rewards to our loyal players! If your horse has achieved a top 3 position in a race at least once within 24 hours, you will be entitled to a daily reward according to the following rules:
In MetaDerby, every horse needs to be taken care of and we do not encourage overfatigue. Therefore, we set a limit for the horses we cherish. Each horse has an energy value capped at 10, with 1 point to be recovered every 2.4 hours. In other words, it can participate in up to 10 races in 24 hours. Besides, a free starter horse can take part in a maximum of 50 races in its lifetime.
